The Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities is currently looking for a consultant web developer. Based in South Florida, the Funders’ Network is a high-functioning membership organization that exists to inspire, strengthen, and expand philanthropic leadership and funders’ abilities to help create more just, prosperous, and sustainable regions and communities.

Summary of Functions:
The web developer will manage the existing website (fundersnetwork.org) and custom-built contact management system (DASH). The developer should have strong communication skills so that he or she can discuss design and development topics with staff members, as well as provide training/documentation when required. This consulting position is meant for web developers with a firm understanding and working knowledge of all technologies necessary to deploy and maintain a modern, standards compliant website – from configuring servers and DNS settings to integrating third-party software.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Aid staff members in managing content
• Maintain the website’s server including db and file-system backups
• Develop new web pages
• Extend functionality of the contact management system

Skills/Qualifications
Note: Applicants without industry experience and proficiency in the following technologies need not apply.

Develop web applications using:
o PHP
o MySQL
o CSS
o Javascript/ jQuery
o XHTML
o Linux – Cent OS or similar / Apache

Experience with the following technologies, while not required, is greatly recommended:

  • Expression Engine CMS
  • Codeigniter PHP framework
  • Microsoft EWS API
  • XML SOAP

Compensation
This position will not provide full-time work and is for work on an as-needed basis for a Consultant-Client relationship. Consultant fees are negotiable.
