Equitable and sustainable water management is critical to creating vibrant, healthy and resilient communities and regions.

But an escalating climate crisis, aging infrastructure and unjust policies and practices pose serious threats to ensuring the safety and accessibility of this critical natural resource. The harrowing water crisis faced by residents of Jackson, Miss., is one of the starkest examples of how systemic failures and extreme climate risks imperil communities across the U.S., most notably Black, Indigenous and other communities of color.

How can funders help drive change and support community-centered solutions?

Join TFN’s GREEN and Urban Water Funders for “Diving Deep” with Mami Hara, CEO of the US Water Alliance, on Oct. 4 at  2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT.

The US Water Alliance advances policies and programs that build a sustainable water future through a “One Water” approach that aims to create innovative, inclusive and integrated water management systems.

Hara joined the US Water Alliance as CEO in 2021, bringing with her more than three decades of experience in water and land management that included serving as CEO of Seattle Public Utilities and as first deputy commissioner at Philadelphia Water.

She’ll share the most pressing issues guiding her work, as well as key takeaways and calls-to-action following the recent U.S. Water Alliance’s One Water Summit.

Kindly contact Kerry Hastings with any questions.
