Water is always essential for our communities, environment and economy — a reality underscored by the public health crisis posed by the coronavirus pandemic. Due to this pandemic, there are billions of dollars in potential federal funding packages and associated policies newly on the table. This webinar will facilitate a field-wide discussion of emerging openings to advance equity and meet water needs for people and nature through the federal response to the pandemic. Topics will include affordability, water shutoffs, and funding and spending for water infrastructure and watershed restoration.

Speakers will represent a variety of perspectives including those of national organizations and coalitions, water utilities, and community-based advocates, and the conversation will include philanthropic, nonprofit, and utility partners. The webinar will explore needs and priorities in the water field, the potential for power-building, and the role of philanthropy.
