About PLACES Alum Communities of Care
Our beloved communities are facing extraordinary harm. And in the fight to overcome growing attacks and respond to evolving crises, leaders are often left feeling overwhelmed.
We recognize the pressing need for spaces where we can safely address the collective trauma we are facing, and most importantly, process it, seek clarity and obtain support to navigate uncertainty as a community.
With that, we invite you to register for the PLACES Alum Communities of Care: a four-part facilitated learning series followed by a bi-monthly community of practice, designed to help PLACES Alums heal, build trust, deepen relationships and grow in sustainable ways.
Centered in equity, wellness and trauma-informed practices, this experience will equip PLACES Alums with the tools to show up for themselves and one another while navigating the challenges of advancing equity and justice in times of crisis.
Together, we will:
- Establish a culture of community healing, wellness and trust.
- Decrease individual and collective trauma by normalizing care, rest and emotional awareness in equity work.
- Increase relationships and connections among PLACES Alums to build long-term collaboration and sustainability.
Facilitated Learning Sessions
Four interactive facilitated learning sessions will be led by Dominique Mack, founder of Community Rx. Dominique is a familiar face in TFN’s funder community: She is also a co-chair of the GREEN working group.
These 90-minute sessions will be held every Thursday over the course of four weeks.

In this space, we will continue to nurture and build upon the community of care we have established as a collective by implementing learnings from the sessions and offering peer support. After November, participants will then have the option to continue meeting as a community of practice if desired.
