The Funders Network (“The Funders Network”, “TFN”, “we”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect information from you, how and why it is used, how it is protected, and with whom it may be shared.

About the data we collect

We collect personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, address, and institutional affiliation, when you sign up for various opportunities, such as conferences, webinars, and Working Groups, and/or when you share information with a TFN staff member, Board member, or contractor. We use this information to facilitate your participation in these opportunities, recommend future events, membership benefits, and opportunities that may be of interest, as well as keep you updated on TFN’s work.

Payment information is collected through third-party services that will only use the information you provide for the purpose of processing your payment to TFN. TFN does not have access to, nor store, your banking or credit card information. We do keep records of payments made (amount, date, purpose) in order to facilitate your participation in our programs.

We use cookies and web beacons to collect anonymized information about your online browsing activity through Google Analytics, MadMimi and MailChimp so that we can deliver streamlined services, as well as analyze and improve our website(s), email messages, and newsletters. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit a website. Web beacons (also called flash cookies) are invisible graphics that are embedded on a web page or email. Both cookies and web beacons keep track of your online activities, and may store data and preferences to help us deliver a quicker web experience. Who has access to your information

TFN staff, Board members, and contractors, as well as some third-party consultants and vendors, have access to the personal data that you share with us. All parties are contractually bound to abide by this Privacy Policy, and they will not retain, use, or distribute your personal information in ways other than those specified in this Policy.

Your Rights

You may opt-out of certain TFN communications, or unsubscribe altogether, by using the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of any email received from our mailing lists.

You may access, correct, update, request deletion, withdraw consent for, or object to processing of your personal data by contacting The Funders Network using the information given below. You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information. For more information, please contact your local data protection authority.

Children under 13 years of age

The Funders Network’s programming and the content at www.fundersnetwork.org is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use this website, subscribe to our mailing list, or provide any information to us. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
